University of Miami. Frank Gore. 42. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. RB. player. 65

Think about the possibility of having been able to see Brian Westbrook and Frank Gore as a two-headed monster in the Eagles’ backfield.

With Philly’s second choice in Round 2, they addressed their defense and added a linebacker. Matt McCoy would be the selection. They could have taken Channing Crowder or Justin Tuck. Heck, they could have done just about anything that they wanted.

What’s really sad is two picks later the San Francisco 49ers landed Frank Gore, and that was 12 picks before Philly took Ryan Moats in Round 3. Honestly, we could stop this conversation there, but for the sake of discussion, let’s continue.

In 2005, the Eagles still had Brian Westbrook who was still approaching his prime. Could you imagine him and Frank Gore as a tag team? It would have been a tough duo for defenses to stop.

Had Gore played in Phily, Westbrook would probably have lasted longer. While, we don’t know if Frank would have wound up with 241 games played and 16,000 yards rushing with the Birds, here’s what we can say with total assurance.

We all know Gore was better than Moats.

Just in case you’re curious, here’s another nugget. Frank Gore could have joined the Eagles again in 2015, but he would have been joining Chip Kelly’s Eagles. No man should have had to endure that. He took his talents to Indy instead.
