Top 10 best undrafted free agent signings by the Eagles
2017 undrafted free agent Corey Clement came up big for the Eagles on the NFL’s biggest stage.
New Jersey native Corey Clement‘s career numbers during his time in Philadelphia are nothing to fawn over, but he dersves his place on this list. Everyone knows why. His performance in Super Bowl LII will never be forgotten, nor should it. He had the night of his life when he and the Eagles organization needed it the most.
Clement watched seven rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft go by without a single team selecting him. The Eagles signed him once the selection meeting ended. He made the most of limited playing time, rushing for 321 yards with four touchdowns and adding 123 yards with two receiving touchdowns on ten receptions during 16 regular-season games.
The former Badger saved his best performance of the season for the game in which his best was needed most, during Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He caught four receptions for 100 yards. One went for a touchdown. Another set up the iconic ‘Philly Special’, perhaps the greatest trick play in Super Bowl history, a play in which he took the handoff and tossed it to Trey Burton, who then found Nick Foles in the end zone.
Clement played three more seasons with the Birds and racked up 334 rushing yards with three more touchdowns. He never had another game to equal his efforts on football’s grandest stage, but that’s totally fine with us. We may not have won the Vince Lombardi Trophy without him.
