42. . . . San Francisco 49ers. . team

The 49ers have been looking for revenge versus the Eagles since their season ended in Philly this past January.

Believe it or not, the San Francisco 49ers are STILL salty about how the NFC Championship Game went for them this past January. You can best believe they’ll be ready for battle when they make their return to Lincoln Financial Field in 2023

San Fran’s defense will be ready to attack the Birds’ offense with their high-powered defense, one that features last year’s sack leader Nick Bosa, linebacker Fred Warner, defensive tackle Arik Armstead, and former Eagle, another defensive tackle, Javon Hargrave.

The 49ers have a ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle are all studs. Who’s going to throw them the ball though?

It looks like the 2022 NFL Draft’s ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ Brock Purdy has earned an opportunity to compete for the starting job, but Trey Lance is also in the mix. The 2021 NFL Draft’s third-overall selection is expected to return from a major injury for the coming season. It is uncertain still who will wind up under center once the regular season begins.

All in all, this is a tough matchup for both teams on paper as two top defenses match wits with two elite offenses. If the Niners are bitten by the injury bug like they were last season, the Eagles will no doubt celebrate an easy win over them, but every way you slice it, this is a game befitting of a national audience, and we’d be pretty bummed if the NFL didn’t make this a part of their prime time matchup.
