Change has been a consistent theme this off-season for the Philadelphia Eagles offense, from both a coaching and a personnel perspective. And as the NFL draft welcomed an array of talent into the fold, the growing likelihood of A.J. Brown's departure strongly suggests the overhaul is anything but over.
As currently constructed, it's clear that there is more explosiveness on tap, even sans Brown, should he, in fact, be moved. Over at Bleacher Report, Brad Gagnon ranked each offense following the NFL Draft, with Philadelphia checking in at No. 10.
Reason(s) for Optimism:Â Lemon, Brown and Wicks give quarterback Jalen Hurts a wide variety of new targets, and Brown remains on the roster for now anyway. Saquon Barkley is still Saquon Barkley, Hurts remains one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league, and they're mixing things up with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.Â
Reason(s) for Pessimism:Â The aging offensive line regressed in 2025 and still isn't exactly loaded with reinforcements. And if indeed they're essentially swapping Brown for Lemon, there's bound to be an adjustment period for the rookie in a major role alongside Devonta Smith. Barkley is 29 and also likely peaked in 2024. So there's a lot of negative momentum here, and some new receivers and another OC change might not be enough to correct that.Â
The diversity of the new targets highlighted by Gagnon is most noticeable. Just like in Green Bay with Jordan Love, new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is now going to be able to arm Jalen Hurts with a number of explosive options in the passing game, with rookie Eli Stowers also being a key addition worth touting here.
Spreading the rock around
The immense reliance on Devonta Smith and Brown of years past will give way to a much more multifaceted approach. And of course, the limited offense of 2025, which drew so much scrutiny, should fast become a distant memory if things go according to plan.
On the flip side, Gagnon points to the offensive line, the potential leap from Brown to Lemon, and Barkley's age as areas of moderate concern.
The top priority will be returning the trio of Lane Johnson, Cam Jurgens, and Landon Dickerson to full health. As they go, so will this offense. Jurgens is reportedly doing quite well following his unconventional journey to get right, while Dickerson sounds ready to roll. And of course, the return of Johnson at right tackle is massive.
Should the trench unit return close to its previous level of domination, fans are confident Barkley can once again post monster numbers. The injuries up front, coupled with questionable playcalling, absolutely hindered the iconic running back's ability to find daylight and spring free.
Trench unit holds the key
As it always has, it all starts up front. If the Eagles can punish people in the trenches, this offense has all the makings of a top-five unit next year, even sans Brown.

Roseman has laid the groundwork with a colorful array of new weapons to help Mannion and Hurts drive this unit forward. Once training camp hits, it will be time to take this brand-new offense out for a spin.
