The Dallas Goedert news that came in with his re-signing with the Philadelphia Eagles was expected to be tied together.

Depending on what the team did, one player was going to come back, or the other was going to sign. Goedert's re-signing could have signaled the end of A.J. Brown since he was reportedly going to be traded, but the Eagles could not get a deal done with the Los Angeles Rams or New England Patriots.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, shortly after breaking the Goedert news, gave an update on what is going on with the Brown situation now that the Eagles brought back their starting tight end. For Eagles fans, it is about the same as the other updates they have been getting over the past week.

"Even though the Eagles now are bringing back tight end Dallas Goedert, there are no new developments regarding the status of wide receiver AJ Brown."

Nothing new on the A.J. Brown front

No Eagles fan expected this to change anything about Brown and whether he is going to be traded. Despite Goedert's move having somewhat of an effect on whether Brown gets traded, nothing will happen at this time.

A trade with Brown would set the Eagles back $20 million against the cap. The only way they would move him at this point is if they got a first and second-round pick for him.

Otherwise, at the moment, the Eagles are going to wait until June 1 to trade him so that they can save $7 million against the cap. At that time, as well, they could drop the asking price to a second-round pick since there won't be as much urgency to trade him.

Eagles fans are going to have a little bit longer. They have waited two years for a Brown trade. What's two more months going to do for them?
