This offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have been filled with so many storylines with A.J. Brown, offensive linemen, and the coaching staff, but for the most part, star quarterback Jalen Hurts has stayed out of the spotlight.
Hurts participated in the Pro Bowl Games, but a report indicated that Eagles teammates were annoyed with upper management for not holding him accountable publicly. With less talk about what his status is against the rest of the quarterbacks in the NFL, ESPN analyst Chris Canty went on First Take to give his top five quarterbacks in the NFC, with Hurts ranked fourth. Canty had a message about Hurts for 2026, though.
"All this dude has ever known is the playoffs since he became the full time starter in Philly. That said, Jalen Hurts has had too many haves when the passing offense didn't show up in 2025. Think back to the Rams game, think back to the Bucs game, think back to the second half in the Bills game even though they won. They've got to become more consistent. A little worried about how Jeff Stoutland leaving the organization and the people leaving when it comes to play caller. It's going to affect his production overall, but he is still one of the very best quarterbacks in the entire NFL."
Jalen Hurts ranked fourth among NFC QBs with a message from Chris Canty
While last season wasn't the worst one for Hurts statistically, there were some parts of his game that weren't up to his standards. He finished with a 64.8% completion percentage for 3,224 yards and 25 touchdowns to six interceptions, adding another 421 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games.
Hurts had some nice moments, but Canty was on point with the multiple halves, where he completely disappeared, costing the team multiple wins. Not all that falls on Hurts, though, as former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the banged-up offensive line did not help much in that department.
Many Eagles fans would love to see Hurts improve his accuracy down the field and get better at throwing in the middle of the field. They would also love to see him run the ball more, as it is a weapon in his arsenal that he has not used.

There is still plenty of good to say about Hurts, as he has won nearly 70% of his games and is a Super Bowl MVP. Eagles fans believe he can improve with a whole new offense in place; at least that's the hope.
