Clock just started ticking for this Eagles coach after Kevin Patullo's exit

It's just a matter of time at this point.

The Philadelphia Eagles finally pulled the trigger on firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after just one season at the position, but he has been on the staff for head coach Nick Sirianni's whole tenure in Philly.

Before the Patullo news, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that massive changes were coming to the Eagles' offensive coaching staff. That only means that Patullo was only the beginning, and more changes could be on the horizon very soon.

This means more Eagles coaches will be on the chopping block. One name keeps popping up as someone who has run his course with the franchise.

Eagles' next coaching firing could be wide receiver coach Aaron Moorehead

While many can chop it up as poor play calls by Patullo, Eagles wide receiver Aaron Moorehead's players certainly didn't do much to inspire the fan base. In fact, a lot of them could be seen as major disappointments.

The number one receiver for Moorehead under that category is the drama-filled A.J. Brown. While he did come on strong late in the regular season, that playoff performance in the 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was ugly, with two massive drops. If fans include the slow start to the season for Brown, and even though he barely got over 1,000 yards on the season, it was his worst season as an Eagle.

No notes have to be given with DeVonta Smith, though, as he ended up having a good season for the Eagles, also, eclipsing over 1,000 yards on the season. Smith had a hot start to his season, but he dropped off late and also had a bad drop on the final drive of the game that really hurt the Eagles.

Outside of those two, though, that's where the concern lies. They traded for Jahan Dotson in 2024, and he produced barely anything in those two seasons, as he had over 200 yards receiving in both seasons. Darius Cooper looked promising in training camp, but mental mistakes late in the season caused him not to be as involved in the offense as some fans wanted.

Not having a true number three receiver was a big problem on this team, as Dallas Goedert filled that void, but that's a void that's been in Philly for a long time. The Eagles should have found someone at this point and just never have.

Moorehead has been on the staff since being hired in the 2020 offseason and has done some great work, but it may be time to find someone else who can get more production from more than just two receivers. Whoever the Eagles bring in as offensive coordinator should bring in a new wide receiver coach.
