The Philadelphia Eagles have fought through some tough times to get back into the postseason, with a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

After what felt like a miserably long three-game losing streak, the Eagles have put together two straight wins against the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders. The Birds are currently 10-5 and NFC East champions, locked into the number three seed in the NFC playoffs.

There are still two more weeks for them to move up into the number two seed in the NFC playoffs if they play their cards right. Once they get into the postseason, though, there is one clearly evident player who could end up dooming the Eagles to a second early-round exit in three seasons.

Jake Elliott is a major problem the Eagles keep ignoring

The concerns over Elliott were at an all-time high after he missed two field goals against the Commanders in the 29-18 win in Week 16. It was actually three missed field goals if it hadn't been for a Washington penalty, but who's keeping track, right?

Elliott is currently 17-24 on the season in field goals and has the worst field goal percentage in the NFL with 70.8%. He has missed at least one field goal in four of the last five games.

This week has seen a storm of Eagles fans and media calling for the team to bring in competition for Elliott, but the Birds have kept backing him up and have not brought anyone in. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has publicly supported Elliott and believes in him as the starter.

It seems like an odd choice not to do anything, especially after how he was last year for the Eagles as the kicker, as he was one of seven on field goals of 50 or more yards. Why does the team continue to let him perform the way he does?

There are legitimate concerns that, going into the postseason, they might have to lean on Elliott to win games with field goals, and he might not be able to get the job done. Last year, he was 10 of 11 on field goals in the postseason, but was 13 of 16 on extra points, so take those stats however fans want to.

This postseason is big for the Eagles, and they can't afford for Elliott to be the reason they get eliminated early, but there's a chance that happens.
