That would be an interesting combo in the QB room.

One of the fascinating storylines for the Philadelphia Eagles entering the 2026 NFL Draft is whether they are going to select a quarterback at some point.

Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts has been under fire over the last two weeks after a report from ESPN came out criticizing the signal-caller. It has led many to believe the Eagles will select a quarterback at some point in the draft, with some even thinking within the first three rounds.

While appearing on the Up & Adams show, Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King was first shown that he and Hurts are the only two quarterbacks in the last 70 years to match the kind of stats that they did.

King also confirmed with Adams that the Eagles were actually at his Pro Day watching him work out.

Could the Eagles take Haynes King in the NFL Draft?

While King has the athletic ability, there have been questions about his transition to the NFL and his ability to adapt to pro-style offenses. King has been projected to be a late Day 3 pick in the draft.

There are questions about what the Eagles are going to do at quarterback outside of the Hurts conversations. They traded for Andy Dalton and still have Tanner McKee as the backup, but he has been involved in trade rumors all offseason.

If the Eagles are able to execute a trade with McKee, that would leave Dalton as the backup and whoever Philly picks in the NFL Draft. Some mock drafts have started the conversation about Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson potentially going to the Eagles at 23. Others feel the Eagles will pick a quarterback later.

King would actually make perfect sense for the Eagles, as he is fast and athletic like Hurts was coming out of college. Having King learn from a guy who has won a Super Bowl with the same skill set would be a benefit. Plus, picking King on Day 3 would cause much less drama in Philadelphia.

Eagles fans wouldn't be opposed to seeing King in the midnight green uniform as a development third-string quarterback for the time being.
