Everyone is wondering whether Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is really dealing with a lower-leg injury from the win over the Las Vegas Raiders. It appears we have our answer.

The Eagles released their first Week 16 injury report, as it was an estimation due to the team participating in a walkthrough. To answer the above question, Hurts was not on it after appearing to have banged up his ankle on his second-to-last play in the Raiders game before throwing the A.J. Brown touchdown and getting benched for what head coach Sirianni said was because of the score.

There were six players listed as not participating in practice while four others were on the report, but still worked out:

  • Saquon Barkley, RB (Stinger, DNP)
  • Jalen Carter, DT (Shoulders, DNP)
  • Landon Dickerson, OL (Calf, DNP)
  • Lane Johnson, OL (Foot, DNP)
  • Fred Johnson, OL (Ankle, DNP)
  • Cameron Latu, TE (Stinger, DNP)
  • Tank Bigsby, RB (Illness, Limited)
  • Zack Baun, LB (Hand, Full)
  • Jaelan Phillips, EDGE (Knee, Full)
  • Cameron Williams, OL (Shoulder, Full)

Eagles got bigger problems than Jalen Hurts right now

Philly's offense is dealing with injuries, including Barkley and three offensive linemen who are not practicing. This isn't the first time this season Barkley has shown up on the injury report on the first practice and then ended up working out the rest of the week, so take that status with a grain of salt (for now).

Lane Johnson was expected to start practicing this week after the foot injury, but his missing the first workout on a short week is not the most encouraging sign. Dickerson has been getting rest days throughout the season in practice, so that was no surprise, and Fred Johnson's injury is worth monitoring, as he suffered that ankle injury in practice last week but still played.

Carter is back on the injury report, not practicing again after missing the last two games. He is now trending to missing yet another game due to issues with both shoulders.

The Eagles are not looking so hot heading into an important game against the Washington Commanders, as a win over them would help them win the NFC East and get them back into the postseason. With the team actually practicing in the next two sessions, those will determine what happens in that game on Saturday.
