The moment that Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ruled out for the Week 14 game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to injuries to both of his shoulders, it felt like Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo were ready for it.

Ojomo already spoke to the media about his shot at starting again and how this time is different, since they can game-plan for it. Davis was a bit different with reporters, expressing how ready he is for his moment to be the guy.

"You know me and (Moro Ojomo) are going to step up and do our part. And we have to make sure we keep this thing rolling, It's obvious we'll be missing Jalen (Carter), but at the end of the day, we can't wait to get him back, and we have to keep working until then."

Davis is ready to take the bull by the horns against Chargers

After getting his fifth-year option picked up in the offseason, Davis had made the Eagles look smart for doing that. He has made some massive plays this season, including his game-winning field goal block against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3 and multiple pass deflections against the Detroit Lions.

In 12 games, Davis has racked up 49 tackles, five tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, three sacks, and six pass deflections. His tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, and pass deflections are all career-highs for the fourth-year defensive tackle.

Those 26 pounds Davis lost in the offseason have certainly paid off for him. Davis is playing more snaps and can stay in games for longer, which has made him a more impactful player on the field.

This term shouldn't be thrown around often, but Davis is playing at a Pro Bowl level. He's been a disruptive force on the defensive line, from closing passing lanes for quarterbacks to getting more pressure on them than he ever has.

After being a former first-round pick and getting overlooked by Carter, Davis is finally getting his flowers, and it is well deserved.
