Eagles legendary coach sends a clear warning on those doubting 2025 squad

They will be silent in the postseason soon enough.

After losing two straight games for the second time this season, there are not a whole ton of believers in the Philadelphia Eagles the rest of the season.

The Eagles are currently 8-4 and in first place in the NFC East, but have lost to the Dallas Cowboys after blowing a 21-point lead and were beaten by the Chicago Bears at home by nine points on Black Friday. With the offense struggling and storylines surrounding quarterback Jalen Hurts, it feels as though the chips are stacked against the Birds.

While making his weekly appearance on SportsRadio 94 WIP, former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil had a strong message to send to the doubters of the team.

"We don't predict a folding football team that's not their profile. With Vic coaching the defense and Nick running the team, yes, everybody's mad at our offensive coordinator, but they are a better football team than that. You just watch."

It's not like the Eagles haven't been in this position before

This might be too optimistic a view to take, but the Eagles fan base needs evidence that this is only a temporary problem.

Last season, this team was 2-2 at one point and ready to fire Nick Sirianni as the head coach, and look at how that turned out. This year, they had a two-game losing streak after losses to the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants, but were about to rattle off four straight wins after that.

The Eagles have been good this season, dealing with a long bye week or mini-bye week. They have used that time to work out their issues and put together the right plan.

Philly's last mini-bye worked out pretty well for Hurts after his perfect passer rating, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the win against the Minnesota Vikings. That was quite the response after an ugly time for the Giants before that.

It's not always as simple as that, but the Eagles are a resilient team and have always found a way to get things back on track to win games. Eagles fans have to believe the same can happen in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
