Two years after a Texas RB was all the rage in Philly, the Eagles may add one of his former Longhorns teammates.

If you're like me, ever since the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX, you've been overspending on the paraphernalia. I've lost track of how much I have blown, so since that hobby got too expensive, I've been watching all of those NFL Films documentaries constructed after football's big game.

Being the football nerd I am, decisions like that start a chain reaction. Eventually, I find myself watching Jerry Glanville's iconic "This is the NFL, which stands for 'Not For Long'" cutaway. That's when it hit me. 'He's right,' I said to myself. Just look at how much has changed with my favorite football team.

Remember when much of the Eagles fan base wanted Philly to draft Bijan Robinson?

There aren't many dull moments in pro football, whether in-season or out. Almost two years ago, we debated whether or not the Eagles should draft Bijan Robinson if he's available. Last offseason, we said there wasn't any way Howie Roseman would spend major coins on a running back.

Then, we watched him sign Saquon Barkley...

11 months later, 'SaQuads' won the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year Award following a regular season where he became only the ninth player in league history to run for 2,000 yards. Philly won a Super Bowl. Saquon was handed a two-year extension with two years remaining on his current deal, and Bijan hasn't been mentioned in Philadelphia again since the day Mr. Barkley arrived.

What if we told you Philly might take a flier on a Texas running back two years after the fact?

Eagles will reportedly invite Texas RB Jaydon Blue to the NovaCare Complex for a Top-30 visit.

Draft season is less than one month away, and the Philadelphia Eagles are doing their due diligence as they have hosted several top prospects during pre-draft visits. Many have been offensive linemen. One of the more recent is reportedly former Texas star Jaydon Blue.

Blue and Robinson were teammates at Texas in 2022. Jaydon is projected as a Day 3 draftee by some of the top draft scouts.

He was part of the Longhorns' talented backfield and could contribute to what would be an unstoppable Eagles committee system that already features Barkley, A.J. Dillon, and Will Shipley.

Blue averaged 5.4 yards per carry during his final NCAA season. He notched 730 yards and eight TDs. He's a home-run threat. Philly has their fair share of those, but something tells us they wouldn't be opposed to adding another.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein gives Jaydon Blue a grade of 6.11, meaning he's a "good backup with the potential to develop into a starter". He's five-foot-nine. He weighs in at 196 pounds.

And, he didn't just tote the rock at Texas. He caught 56 passes during his final two seasons, resulting in 503 yards, a nine-yard-per-reception average, and seven more trips to the end zone.
