The Philadelphia Eagles had been able to tough out the fact that the vibes in the 2025 season were off by fighting and clawing their way to an 8-2 start to the year, but with a Monday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, dropping them to 8-5, the Eagles need to confront how poisonous this situation has become.
The Eagles have been hoping against hope that anything can cheer up the dour folks in the locker room, even going as far as to set up a giant inflatable rabbit that looks more at home outside of a used car dealership around Easter than it does in the middle of a struggling and tense NFL locker room.
The good vibes the rabbit was supposed to bring have already melted away, as the infamous inflatable has already been taken down. Turns out that trying to motivate an NFL locker room in the same way that teachers try to get fourth graders excited about getting some pieces of candy right before Easter break didn't work out.
Eagles take down locker room inflatable after Chargers loss
The worst part about the loss to Los Angeles was the fact that the one thing that kept this Kevin Patuulo-led clown show of an offense viable, Jalen Hurts' ability to avoid turnovers, evaporated into thin air. Hurts turned it over five times (including twice on one play) and threw four interceptions against LA.
The Eagles' losing ways have opened the door for the 6-6-1 Dallas Cowboys to make a run at the division title. Even though such a run is improbable, the fact that Philly let Dallas get up off the mat after their poor start is bordering on inexcusable for a team that is not even a calendar year removed from a dominant Super Bowl victory.
The Eagles will eventually bounce back later in the season, as they have two matchups against the lowly Washington Commanders and the two-win Las Vegas Raiders, which should be easy victories for Hurts and company. However, with how this offense has been performing, nothing should be totally off the table.

While Philly could right the ship with a win against the Las Vegas Raiders, that won;t fix all of the problems.
