The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to their younger players to step up, with Jalen Carter not playing in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers due to shoulder injuries.
They will obviously turn to Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo to be in the starting lineup, but a rookie fourth-round pick might finally have a real shot at proving himself for the Eagles: Ty Robinson. When speaking with the media, Robinson expressed his excitement about his chance to help the Eagles.
“I think just be able to show and prove myself to the organization and prove myself that I’m able to go out there and compete with the guys,” Robinson said via NBC Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro. “I’m just excited for whatever they’re willing to give me.”
Robinson is ready for his moment to play for the Eagles
Since being drafted in the fourth round, Robinson caught Eagles fans' attention with his mini-camp dominance, building the excitement around him. Once the regular season hit, that went away very quickly.
Robinson has spent most of the season inactive, playing in only six games. He's played 35 snaps on defense and 19 on special teams, racking up one tackle and one pass deflection in their 34-17 loss to the New York Giants when Carter missed that game with a separate injury.
Fast forward to now: Robinson understands his rookie year will be a lot of learning and time on the bench, but after 13 weeks, he's ready to make his mark in the NFL.
“I understood when I came here that I was going to be around a bunch of dudes. I knew that I was going to have to work even harder to have this opportunity to get on the field. Obviously, the Eagles believed in me and being able to do that. I just have to do the same thing.”
