Another week of free agency, another week where the Philadelphia Eagles sign a veteran wide receiver to the roster.

Elijah Moore is the latest new addition to the team, just one week after the Eagles also signed Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. Moore has played five seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills.

Moore had nine receptions for 112 yards, adding 24 rushing yards and one touchdown in nine games last season with the Bills. While he has had success as a WR3 in his career, his arrival might have put one player on notice, threatening his spot on the depth chart.

Darius Cooper might have a lot of work to do in training camp vs. Elijah Moore

Cooper was the star of training camp for the Eagles last season as he went from being an unknown undrafted rookie out of Tarleton State to making the 53-man roster. In 13 games with the Eagles last year, he caught nine of his 11 targets for 92 yards, with six of them going for first downs.

Just because he got the attention of the fan base last year does not mean Cooper's job in 2026 is guaranteed. A big reason he made the roster was Johnny Wilson's ACL injury, which he suffered in training camp and caused him to miss the whole 2025 campaign.

Things will only get tougher for Cooper with Moore in the picture. Moore has proven to be a reliable WR3 in the offense and plays well out of the slot. It might end up being a challenge for Cooper not only to get playing time but also to make the roster by the end of August.

Training camp is going to be very interesting for the Eagles, as the wide receiver position battle is going to be more competitive than it ever has been, with Moore, Cooper, and Wilson facing off.
