With the Philadelphia Eagles hiring former Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as the new offensive coordinator, there might be some clear targets that Mannion should bring with him to Philly.
The biggest offseason question for the Eagles is whether they will be trading away star wide receiver A.J. Brown after reportedly making multiple requests for trades during the 2025 regular season. Brown has been unhappy for some time, and many in the media and around the league believe something could happen this offseason.
If the Eagles were able to execute a trade involving Brown, that would leave them with some options to replace the star receiver either through free agency, trade, or the draft. One incoming free agent from the Packers would be able to slip into Mannion's offense perfectly and excel at it.
Eagles might want to consider Romeo Doubs
Former Packers receiver Romeo Doubs is coming off the best season of his career with 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. What has made him such a threat over the last two years is that his yards per catch have been the best of his career, as he had 13.1 yards per catch in 2024 and 13.2 yards per catch in 2025.
If Brown does get traded, that would open the door for DeVonta Smith to be the WR1 on the offense. That would make sense since Smith already took that role last year, leading the Eagles with 77 receptions for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns.
Doubs makes for the perfect number two receiver with Smith, as Doubs can be more of a deep threat, while Smith can play a little bit of both deep threat and possession receiver. This would leave the Eagles to look for a WR3 in the draft.
One concern with a Doubs signing would be the cost to the Eagles. According to Spotrac, he is looking at a new contract valued at $12 million per year.

It might be an expensive cost to bring someone on, but it is important to have someone who understands what Mannion wants in his offense. Doubs would not only be valuable on the field for the Eagles, but he can also help players learn the system and excel at it from Year 1.
