The back half of the 2025 season has been pretty ugly for the Philadelphia Eagles, but the last two wins against the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders show signs of life from the team.

After the Eagles clinched the NFC East title in the 29-18 victory over the Commanders in Week 16, former Pro Bowl linebacker Ike Reese shared what he saw from the team in the game. Reese believes that he is starting to see the traits that have made the Eagles great over the last few years and helped them win the Super Bowl in February.

"That game wasn't perfect Saturday night, but it was exactly what I needed to see," Reese said via SportsRadio 94 WIP. "Here's the thing: they got resistance in the first half, even though I thought they played damn near a flawless first half. Not a flawless first half, but damn near flawless first half. Missed field goals and overthrow from Jalen (Hurts) to A.J. (Brown)."

"I felt good even though we were down at the half and then they came out and did what they were supposed to do in the second half. It's not so much about who they beat, it's how they won. To me, they are getting back to winning football games with the formula that has been successful for Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts and this football team. That's playing good defense, that's establishing the run, and taking your shots when they're there."

Eagles appear to be back to playing to their strengths

It was clear in the Commanders' game that the Eagles were back to being a well-balanced offensive attack, with both the run and the pass. Saquon Barkley rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown, with the team going for 207 yards on the ground in the game. Hurts threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

The defense was just as good, if not better, as they allowed just 220 total yards in the win. That means the Eagles' defense has now allowed under 300 yards total in the last two games against the Raiders and Commanders.

Philly is rocking with a 10-5 record and sits as the third seed in the NFC, set to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 17. This is the game that could not only determine if they can move up in the seeding for the postseason, but also if they are for real, beating a Super Bowl-contending team.
