There may not be a more beloved Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator in team history than Frank Reich, after all he did for the franchise.

When Doug Pederson was hired as head coach in 2016, Reich was tasked with developing a young quarterback, Carson Wentz. Those two years he was in Philly were magical, as the Eagles won the Super Bowl for the first time ever in the 2017 season, but Reich did it with Nick Foles as his quarterback.

It's been some time since then, but Reich is back at it, as he will become the New York Jets' offensive coordinator. Reich is coming off a one-year interim run as the Stanford Cardinal's head coach, during which they went 4-8.

After his run in Philadelphia, Reich became the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts for five seasons, leading them to the playoffs twice. He then landed the Carolina Panthers head coach job in 2023, but lasted just 11 games before being fired.

This is the first time that Reich is a coordinator since he was last with the Eagles as he had been a head coach three times since. Reich did great work with the Eagles in 2016 and 2017 despite Pederson being the main play caller, but he is still credited with the work he did with Wentz before Wentz's gruesome ACL injury in the Los Angeles Rams game in late 2017.

Many Eagles fans hoped Reich would have been a candidate for the offensive coordinator opening this offseason. He was not brought in for an interview, as Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni instead chose unproven Sean Mannion as the offensive coordinator.

Everyone in Philly will be cheering for Reich to do well in New York, as this could potentially be the last time he lands a job, as he is 64 years old and has nothing else to prove. Eagles fans can only hope he can ride off into the sunset with a performance with the Jets that he can be proud of.
