There are a lot of opinions coming out about the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator opening, with a lot more negativity surrounding it of late.
The Eagles have lost out on three of their top five candidates for the job, including Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll, and the latest is Zac Robinson. This is leaving a lot of people to share the commentary that this might be one of the least desirable jobs in the NFL, with people speculating the reason is a combination of Nick Sirianni, Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and dealing with the fan base after what happened with Kevin Patullo.
One person out there still feels as though this is one of the best jobs that was made available in the offseason. While appearing on former Eagles legend Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, FOX NFL game analyst Greg Olsen shared his thoughts on Philly's offensive coordinator that most people aren't saying about it lately.
"If I'm an offensive playcaller, I'm doing everything in my power to get that job. I want to go call plays in Philadelphia...that's a great job."
Is Eagles' OC opening still a desirable job?
The pressure of coaching an offense like Philadelphia's can be a lot on a coach, and not everyone can do the job. That's because the fans and the team's expectations are high with all the talent it has.
Their offensive line can be one of the elite in the NFL, with Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson as top-five tackles in the league. Landon Dickerson, when healthy, is also one of the top guards in the league, with center Cam Jurgens working his way up the rankings and still landing Pro Bowl selections.
When running back Saquon Barkley has the lanes and blocking, he can make magic happen in the backfield. Barkley can also help in the passing game, and with Tank Bigsby backing him up, that's a good running back room in Philly.
Everyone knows about the talent between A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith as one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. The drama around Brown, though, is less desirable for a coach to deal with on a weekly basis.
And then there's Jalen Hurts. When used to his full potential as a runner and passer, Hurts can be one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the league. He is great at protecting the football from turnovers, but if an offensive coordinator doesn't make him run the ball like he reportedly might not be a fan of, they are leaving a lot of meat on the table with the offense.

The Eagles still have plenty of talent on offense to be a top 10 unit, but coaching in Philly is not an easy task. If a coach can be tough-minded with the media and fans, they can succeed in Philadelphia.
