Legendary offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland may no longer be roaming the sidelines, but the starting unit up front for the Philadelphia Eagles is returning fully intact, with a renewed drive to return to dominance.
ESPN's Mike Clay recently dropped his offensive line projections, slotting Philly's unit in at second overall, trailing only the Denver Broncos in the trenches. Clay used a range of metrics to formulate his player ratings, including PFF grades, pedigree, and pass & run block win rates.

Dominant tackles spearhead the unit
The duo of Lane Johnson (8.1) and Jordan Mailata (7.9) comprises one of the most talented pairs of tackles in league history. Johnson succumbed to that Achilles injury near the midway point of last season, and while Fred Johnson filled in admirably, the sheer force of Johnson was sorely missed.
After rumors of potential retirement were put to rest, Johnson is back with a vengeance. The two are routinely in the mix for both All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors, spearheading the unit at all times.
Interior presence paced by power trio
Guards Landon Dickerson (6.5) and Tyler Steen (6.9) each come off a campaign that left some room for improvement, for separate reasons. For Dickerson, the production dipped due to injuries, which also left him pondering retirement, but he's indicated a return to good health, and previous Pro Bowl nods, and a return to strength and top efficiency in both the run game and passing phase for Dickerson are critical for the Eagles' offense.
Steen earned a 71.6 overall PFF grade in 2025, placing him 17th out of 81 guards who qualified. Flagged for nine penalties, the fourth-year guard will look to clean up that portion of his game, while upping his overall level of play as he embarks on the final year of his four-year rookie contract.
Manning the pivot, a healthy Cam Jurgens (6.0) will be a big lift for the Eagles' trench unit, as the Pro Bowl center is in great spirits following intensive off-season work to get things right.
Same as it ever was
With new offensive line coach Chris Kuper on board, the theme that has helped power this offense to two Super Bowls amid three appearances in eight seasons remains the same: it all starts up front. This Eagles' offense has overpowered the opposition in the trenches thanks to this group, making this upcoming season all the more significant for them.
Following a frustrating 2025 campaign marred by injuries and hints of retirement from two crucial members, this trench unit is on a mission to show they once again reign supreme.
