There are a lot of moving pieces that could unfold over the next week or two for the Philadelphia Eagles as they try to lock in a new offensive coordinator after the removal of Kevin Patullo from the position.
Reports have come in that the Eagles are looking at a coordinator with experience running an offense and play calling with the ability to fully control the system without outside interference from head coach Nick Sirianni. Two of the top candidates include former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.
One of those candidates may not be as available as some Eagles fans might think. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Daboll is being interviewed for the Tennessee Titans head coaching job despite being a top candidate for many offensive coordinator roles.
What are the odds of Brian Daboll landing a head coaching job?
McDaniel seems more likely to be able to get a head coaching job than Daboll, as he had more success in Miami as a head coach. During his run with the Dolphins, McDaniel made the postseason two years in a row to start his head coaching career.
Daboll was similar as he made the playoffs in his first year as the Giants' head coach. After that, though, he missed the postseason every year since and was fired midway through the 2025 season.
The Eagles might be better off going with Daboll, as he is more likely to be a coordinator. He's also the perfect fit in Philadelphia, with his prior relationship with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley being the biggest factor.

Philly will be monitoring Daboll to see how it goes with the Titans interview, as Eagles fans hope he stays available for the offensive coordinator job.
