The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator search has not been going as well as most fans hoped, as more candidates are withdrawing than sticking around.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from the Eagles' OC opening. Doyle interviewed for the job without the Bears rejecting his opportunity to talk to Philly.
It was Doyle's first season as offensive coordinator, but he did not call the plays; Bears head coach Ben Johnson handled those duties. Doyle looks to stay put in Chicago another season before looking at other options in the 2027 offseason.
There are some major red flags with this Eagles OC search
This is getting a little embarrassing for the Philadelphia Eagles to see all these candidates seemingly saying no to the offensive coordinator job. There have been too many withdrawals from consideration that it almost looks like more candidates don't want the job, opting out.
The real question is what is going on with the Eagles' offensive coordinator position, and why doesn't anyone want it? Is this a matter of no one wanting to work with head coach Nick Sirianni, quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver A.J. Brown, or something deeper than that?
Now, there are still plenty of candidates that would be good for the job and still have options out there, but it's not looking great. The options from those who have interviewed and are most qualified are Brian Daboll, Mike Kafka, and Jim Bob Cooter.
Daboll has to be at the top of the list with Kafka and Cooter as good secondary options. It does leave some wondering whether other guys like Kliff Kingsbury or Joe Brady would get interviews, since they have already been successful at a high level.

The Eagles are really running out of time and candidates to consider, as no one seems to want the job at this point. It's scary times in Philadelphia.
