With Day 2 of the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots joint practice, Eagles fans were asking one question: Can we move on now?
While it was a great practice for the Eagles and they bounced back, there were fewer storylines about what was happening on the field. Of course, the commanding storyline from the joint practice was Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown.
After the first day of the practice, Brown was swarmed by multiple questions about the Eagles, including him saying that he and Jalen Hurts had not talked since the trade. It felt like everyone in the media was mad about that, but the craziness of this never-ending storyline might finally come to an end.
A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts talked at Eagles-Patriots joint practice....yay
That's right Eagles fans. Prepare to lose your minds absolutely: Brown and Hurts actually talked!! NBC Sports Philadelphia Eagles reporter Dave Zangaro detailed how the interception happened.
"After Day 1 of joint practices, we learned that Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown hadn’t spoken since Brown was traded to the Patriots on June 1. These two were once best friends and were huge pieces to one of the greatest eras of Eagles football. So while we knew they were no longer tight, it was a shame to think their relationship was almost nonexistent. But then this happened on Thursday:

It was good to see them catch up and spend a happy moment together after joint practices wrapped on Thursday. Those two won a Super Bowl together and will forever be a part of franchise history."
Apparently, this has been the interaction everyone has been waiting for since June. On a personal level, it was good to see them talk because the love is still there, but whatever caused the problems during their time in Philly over the last two years won't be fixed for a while.
Two years ago, reports came out that Brown and Hurts did not have the best relationship after being friends. That tension continued throughout last year, and Brown's frustration with the Eagles' offense and his role in it led to his trade to the Patriots.
While most reasonable Eagles fans would view this as the closure needed to move on from the situation, some people don't feel that way. SportsRadio 94 WIP's Spike Eskin had an issue with Brown coming up to Hurts after the joint practice.
"You have to ask yourself why did he run up to Jalen Hurts today? He's had three months to talk to him since the trade, he had all of yesterday. He didn't. If he wanted to resolve this he could have resolved it several times. He didn't have to wait till the practice was over. Cameras were there. Everybody's watching. Now let me be the one to run over to Jalen."
Spike is angrier with A.J. Brown today than he was when the Eagles first traded him.

Spike. Buddy. Take Ferris Bueller's advice: "You're still here? It's over. Go home."
Sure, could it have been a publicity stunt? Of course, but does it really matter? The two didn't have to talk, but they did. It's clear no matter what Brown did, the Eagles media was going to criticize him for it, so who cares?
