There are a lot of questions now about the Philadelphia Eagles' future after what is now turning into a nightmare season for the team.

Just 10 months removed from winning the Super Bowl, the Eagles have lost five straight games and are coming off a devastating 22-19 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Much of the criticism now is going to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts after his five-turnover performance.

This is prompting reporters to figure out what the future holds for Philly and what general manager Howie Roseman might do. ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler dropped a massive nugget on Roseman's potential 2026 NFL Draft strategy that might cause even more chaos within the team.

"Some people around the league were starting to think the Eagles might draft a quarterback high in 2026 even before Jalen Hurts' four-interception performance Monday. The prediction from those folks: Roseman snags a passer on Day 2, allowing Hurts to serve as the starter in 2026 while having a future starter to develop. "[The Eagles] will do to Jalen what they did to Carson Wentz," one industry source predicted."

Philly could be bringing back the quarterback factory

Remember when Hurts was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and the craziness that came with the team despite Carson Wentz being the starter? That might actually happen again in Philadelphia.

It would be crazy in the sense that Hurts literally won the Super Bowl MVP one year ago and has made two Pro Bowls since 2022, yet now the talk is about replacing him. That was a question Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni had already been asked about benching Hurts after his bad game, which he of course said no to.

What isn't crazy is the Eagles using a high pick to find another quarterback. Remember that after Hurts was drafted, Roseman said he wanted the Eagles to be viewed as a quarterback factory. This would be one way to do it.

There might be a real possibility that the Eagles might have Hurts, Tanner McKee, a highly drafted rookie, and Kyle McCord on the roster. What a quarterback battle that might end up being.

People questioning Hurts is fair, as he has turned the ball over eight times since the bye week (in the last five games). He has completed over 60% of his passes just once in that same time span.

It appears that the new storyline in Philadelphia for the rest of the season is Hurts and the quarterback position, so buckle up, Eagles fans. This will be a bumpy ride.
