Philadelphia Eagles fans would certainly like to forget the Kevin Patullo days as offensive coordinator after enduring that nightmare during the 2025 season.
Patullo lasted only one season before he was removed as offensive coordinator at the conclusion of the 2025 season, after which he landed with the Miami Dolphins, where he is now the passing game coordinator. Patullo spoke to the media for the first time since leaving Philly, opening up about his time with the Eagles.
"Yeah, I think really all my five years in Philadelphia, I had such a handle on a lot of a lot of different things. Assistant head coach, and then I was part OC throughout my whole entire time there, and even last year, I was so heavily involved in a lot of things," Patullo said via Sun Sentinel's David Furones. I think just the experience of going through that from building a program up from '21 until this past year. You know, obviously, looking to continue to do that. Just seeing what goes into that. When you have a new roster, setting a new culture in place, trying to set a new offense in place, is going through that. What it takes each year to kind of get to that level. We went to two Super Bowls, two NFC Championships, you know what goes into that, it takes a lot. Being able to experience that is probably the biggest thing that I can take with it. Just understanding like it's all about the players. You got to put them in a position to be successful. Whoever it is, no matter who the player is. You got to do everything you can for them to put them in a position to be successful. I think that's the biggest thing."
Was Kevin Patullo too involved in the offense over the years?
For much of Patullo's time with the Eagles, the offense was very good between 2022 and 2024, finishing in the top 10 each year. The struggles came with the passing game over the last two years, and then the running game had a down year in 2025 with Patullo as offensive coordinator.
Philly ended up being in the bottom 15 in every offensive category last year, including total offense, passing, rushing, and points. Patullo struggled with multiple aspects of the job, as he was unable to achieve a balanced play-calling while nearly every player outside of DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Jordan Mailata saw major regression from 2024 to 2025.
There were a couple of scary comments Patullo made there, saying he was pretty much OC the whole time in Philly and "putting players in a position to be successful." One, if that was the case, Eagles fans might question how involved he was because when he was fully involved as the offensive coordinator, it didn't work well at all. Second, during his one year as offensive coordinator, he literally didn't put any of his players in a good position and, in fact, might have pushed A.J. Brown to ask for a trade.

If Eagles fans are being honest, Patullo did some good things as the passing game coordinator, but his tenure as offensive coordinator did way more damage than any other assistant coach has done to the franchise in a long, long time. We can wish him luck in South Beach and hope he learned from the multiple mistakes he made in Philly.
