Ever since the Philadelphia Eagles hired Sean Mannion as offensive coordinator, the praise he has received from coaches and analysts has made this decision far more exciting than anyone could have anticipated.

Mannion only has two years of coaching experience, but everyone has raved about how smart he is and how he has a bright future in the NFL as a coordinator and potentially a head coach. While at the Super Bowl amid the media frenzy, current Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator and future Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak spoke with PHLY, sharing his thoughts on Mannion landing the Eagles OC job.

“I think you guys got a gem of a coach. Really excited for Sean. Not at all surprised that he's in this position and to be in Philly with that organization, what a great opportunity for him."

Klint Kubiak gave glowing review for Sean Mannion as Eagles OC

Kubiak knows Mannion very well, as he was Mannion's quarterback coach with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 and 2020 and his offensive coordinator in 2021. That's a pretty good coach to learn from for Mannion, since Kubiak is on his way to becoming a head coach for the first time.

All the glowing reviews should be enough for Eagles fans to know that they might have something special in Mannion. His development of Jordan Love and Malik Willis should be evidence enough that he can get the job done.

Love threw just six interceptions in 15 games, the lowest of his NFL career when starting that many games, while completing over 66% of his passes. Willis was special as well, completing over 85% of his passes when in relief of Love.

Mannion has a good eye for talent and what is needed to make a quarterback better and an offense flow as he has worked with some great coaches like Kubiak, Sean McVay, and Matt LaFleur. Eagles fans just hope Kubiak is right about Mannion and that he can turn around this offense in 2026.
