One of the biggest surprises for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025 was defensive tackle Moro Ojomo's performance, and his dominance is clearly carrying into 2026.
The Eagles beat the Washington Commanders 24-22 in their Week 1 matchup, with Ojomo as a featured player. Ojomo finished with three tackles, but his biggest play came when he blew up the Commanders' final two-point conversion attempt to preserve the win.
This was another reminder to Eagles fans that Ojomo has an interesting offseason ahead. That's because Philly's Week 1 win was just the start of a new campaign Ojomo is launching on the field to become a very, very rich man.

Pro Football Focus released early-season stats for Ojomo that add to his dominant Week 1 performance. He leads the NFL in hurries with four and is third in total pressures with four.
His biggest evidence of how good he can be was the two-point conversion stop that gave the Eagles the win. After the media game, he told how he made it happen.
"I got off on the ball, took a shot," Ojomo said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "You kind of got to play it free. I saw the guard pull, spun out of it, the tight end was right there. ...You have to play fast, man. And you can't play indecisive."
That is the highlight play that will be played in the offseason when Ojomo gets his next massive contract whether the Eagles or another NFL team is a question of its own.
It certainly feels more than unlikely that the Eagles can retain Ojomo with the price tag he is about to get. He is looking at a payday of about $20 million to $25 million per year.
The Eagles have so many other players they'll have to pay during the offseason. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell will command a lot of money. Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith might also be in line for massive contract extensions.
Philly would love to keep Ojomo if they could, but that won't be easy. They might be okay without him if Byron Young and Ty Robinson live up to everyone's expectations.

It's going to be a very busy and expensive offseason for the Ravens, but Ojomo will enjoy it. That's because no matter what happens, he will be a very highly paid defensive tackle in the NFL.
