Those pesky New York Giants think they are being so slick with their latest coaching move against the Philadelphia Eagles.
ESPN NFL reporter Peter Schrager reported that Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter is going to interview with the Giants for the same role. Cooter has gone through two rounds of interviews with the Eagles for their open offensive coordinator role.
New York originally thought Todd Monken would become the offensive coordinator before he accepted the Cleveland Browns head coach job. The Eagles have lost out on their own coaches, with several withdrawing from consideration, including Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll.
Eagles and Giants now battling it out for Jim Bob Cooter
This is one of the tough parts of still looking for an offensive coordinator after over two weeks of the search. Other teams are going to go after the second, third, and fourth options that are out there since they are just as desperate as the Eagles are.
It would be a massive blow to the Eagles if they lose out on Cooter to the Giants, as that could be a big sign for the future of the search. That would only bring more questions to the Eagles that they can't afford to have at this point.
There are already conversations about why the job is so bad, including criticism from fans and the media, as well as from Nick Sirianni, Jalen Hurts, Jeff Stoutland, and A.J. Brown. If Eagles fans can think of an excuse, the media and fans have run with it as the main reason Philly hasn't landed an offensive coordinator.
The potential of what could happen in the Eagles' offense also makes it an attractive job. Two offensive coordinators in the last four years have landed head coaching jobs, so if a coach does well, not only will that coach get love and respect from the fans and media, but they could quickly land a head coaching job.

All Philly fans want, though, is the Giants to stay out of their way and make sure to land the right coach for the job.
