Philadelphia Eagles fans are still trying to get the sour taste out of their mouths with former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after the rough job he did in 2025.
In his only season as offensive coordinator, the Eagles finished in the bottom 15 in total offense, passing, rushing, and scoring. Since being removed as the offensive coordinator of the Eagles, Patullo has been hired as the Miami Dolphins' passing game coordinator, with his new head coach, Jeff Hafley, spending time at the NFL Combine praising Patullo to the media.
“When I interviewed him, I was blown away — the knowledge that he has, the football experience that he has, what he did for that entire organization," Hafley said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Don’t forget: He won a Super Bowl and behind the scenes, what he did with that offense and with that whole team, listening to him talk and his football knowledge, not just about offense, but about game management, about situational football.”

To be fair to Patullo, he was a valuable member of the Eagles' organization when he joined head coach Nick Sirianni's staff in 2021 as the pass game coordinator. Patullo was always great at game planning and was huge during the week, serving as Sirianni's right-hand man on offense.
The issue that Patullo ran into was that game-planning was just one part of the job, as he struggled on game day. Philly's offense would often get off to good starts in games, but Patullo struggled so much with halftime adjustments and changing the play-calling that the Eagles became predictable and stale on offense in the second half.
Patullo took a lot of criticism for repeatedly running the same plays. He was big with hitch routes as he ran the play more than any other route in the NFL and went to runs up the middle on first and second down during the second halves of games when the Eagles had the lead.

Eagles fans can say all they want, but Patullo is a very good assistant coach in the NFL. Sirianni put him in a position to fail at a job he shouldn't have had in the first place. Let's hope Sirianni learned from his mistake with another inexperienced play caller in the new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, and the offense can finally get turned around for the 2026 season.
