This offseason for the Philadelphia Eagles has had its interesting moments, but overall has not been as good as fans have hoped.
The Eagles lost several key starters in free agency from last year, including Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, and Nakobe Dean. Pro Football Focus writer Gordon McGuinness agrees that this free agency period has not been the best for Philly, giving them a C+ and noting their top move: cornerback Riq Woolen.
"Woolen is coming off the lowest-graded season of his four-year NFL career to date but has always been a bit of a boom-or-bust player. He has recorded 50 combined pass breakups and interceptions in four seasons but has also surrendered 20 touchdowns and committed 35 penalties in that span."
Eagles barely get a passing grade for free agency
It was always going to be known among the Eagles fan base that this offseason would be different from other years. In actuality, it's more like last offseason, as Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is only really handing out one-year deals.
While there is some risk with Woolen, he is a massive upgrade from Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo. As for new edge rusher Arnold Ebiketie, he's got big shoes to fill with Phillips gone, but the move is still seen as a good one for Philly.
"Although Ebiketie never became a dominant pass-rusher for the Falcons, he still contributed positively in the team’s rotation. Ebiketie’s pass-rushing metrics improved every season since 2023, culminating in a 73.4 PFF pass-rush grade and 16.8% pass-rush win rate in 2025. Although Ebiketie may not become Philadelphia’s primary starter at edge defender, he should offer high-upside depth without major financial commitments."
The moves are not the strongest for the Eagles, and fans may not want to say it, but there is more work to do. Is this team ready for a Super Bowl? It's hard to tell, as the offseason moves haven't been enough to work with. At least they have that genius as the general manager to come up with something.

It's a long offseason, with the Eagles having a few more moves up their sleeves and $40 million in cap space to work with. Roseman has something cooking up, and everyone better be ready.
