The Philadelphia Eagles might be one of the most fascinating teams of the offseason, as they have questions about them that people are trying to figure out.
Outside of the obvious A.J. Brown future question, there are some who wonder if this Eagles roster can hold up with the talent they have. Their defense is filled with stars, with Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean. Even on offense, they are stacked with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, and Lane Johnson.
While there might be more questions about the franchise's future, the roster right now has all the talent in the world to compete for another Super Bowl. That's not just from the voices of optimistic Eagles fans going into an all-important 2026 season.
Eagles' roster is getting respect going into the 2026 season
Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton shared his list of the top 10 rosters after the first week of free agency. Despite the inactivity of free agency, Moton has the Eagles' roster at number four.
"Jalen Hurts isn't going to draw you to the TV screen with his passing prowess, but he makes plays in big moments, sometimes with the ball in his hands as the engine that drives the Eagles' patented Tush Push. Hurts has one of the league's best receiver duos (for now) in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. He built a strong rapport with tight end Dallas Goedert, who caught a career-high 11 touchdown passes last season.
Two-time All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson and three-time Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson contemplated retirement, but they'll both play in the upcoming season. Star running back Saquon Barkley should be happy about that. And if the Eagles made the right choice in hiring first-time play-caller Sean Mannion, the offense should be much improved after finishing 19th in scoring and 24th in total yards last season.
The Eagles lost key defenders in free agency. Edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips, linebacker Nakobe Dean and safety Reed Blankenship signed elsewhere, but Philadelphia made a splash, signing cornerback Riq Woolen. Edge-rusher Arnold Ebiketie could be a steal at a bargain rate."
Outside of the Woolen signing, the Eagles didn't go too crazy in free agency, and the Woolen contract is still a favorable one for Philly with a cap hit of less than $4 million in 2026. Re-signing Goedert might end up being the top move the team made this offseason after losing several of their top free agents.

The roster and talent level have never been the problem in Philly. It's all about whether the coaching staff can live up to the expectations set by the roster.
