The disaster of making Kevin Patullo the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2025 ultimately fell on the shoulders of head coach Nick Sirianni for his poor decision.
Philly is doing a full Uno card reversal on that decision, as they removed Patullo from the position and are now seeking a new one. There have been several candidates named, including Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll, being the top rumored candidates, but LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. has been picking up some steam as well.
During the team's end-of-year press conference with Sirianni and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, one question the media asked was whether Sirianni would be as involved in the offense as he was in 2025. The head coach had little to say on the subject.
“We’re not there yet as far as that goes.”
Nick Sirianni might not say much on it, but every Eagles fans wants to know
Sirianni only really got involved in 2025 because the offense wasn't doing as well and needed another voice in there to help Patullo out. Even with Sirianni's involvement, the Eagles' offense still finished in the bottom 15 in all the major statistical categories.
Now, with Howie Roseman leading the search for the new offensive coordinator and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie involved in the interview process, the right man must be found for the team. They are looking for someone with experience as an offensive coordinator, but it doesn't have to be someone who stays long, like defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
So far, only Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson has interviewed for the job, but Weis is expected to interview next week. There should be way more candidates coming in the next week to talk about the job.

The Eagles need to take their time and make sure they find the right candidate for the job. A whiff on this hire and it could mean chaos in Philly after the 2026 season.
