The Philadelphia Eagles are less than two weeks away from kicking off training camp and starting up the drama all over again.
This offseason was too much for the Eagles, as they dealt with retirement scares involving Vic Fangio, Lane Johnson, and Landon Dickerson. Oh, and there were multiple negative reports about Jalen Hurts and the trade rumors that finally became true for A.J. Brown.
Now with all that behind them, though, there are just as many storylines entering training camp that will have everyone's attention. Bleacher Report writer Brad Gagnon used the word "intriguing" to describe the vibes before the Eagles start up camp.
"Primarily due to the presence of Makai Lemon, the departure of A.J. Brown and the addition of incoming offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Things are far from stale in Philly."
Eagles fans have always been intrigued by the team entering training camp
It feels like every season, NFL fans and media are intrigued to see what happens in training camp. The Eagles are a magnet for drama that the national media loves to feed into, whether it's about Brown, Hurts, head coach Nick Sirianni, or someone else. There's always something happening in Philly.
This season is no exception with the addition of Mannion on the coaching staff. He's never been a play-caller, which, of course, is going to scare Eagles fans since the last two inexperienced offensive coordinators, Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo, have ended up getting fired after one season.
Lemon has such a disadvantage and way more pressure on him entering the NFL than most rookies do. He is responsible for replacing Brown and ensuring the passing attack doesn't miss a beat with him lining up in the slot and DeVonta Smith as the new number-one receiver.
Another intriguing storyline that wasn't mentioned by Gagnon was Jalen Hurts' role in the offense and how he will fit in the new scheme. This is his seventh play-caller in seven years, so for him, it's about how quickly he can adjust and thrive in the offense under Mannion, or if he doesn't, will the Eagles potentially move on from him?
What would be a nice word to describe the vibes for Eagles fans sometime in the future is "calm." That has been the feeling since Brown was traded to the New England Patriots, which has been nice for sure.

There are more storylines to follow, from the offensive line to the safety position battle. Regardless, the Eagles will be in the headlines for something, so fans in Philly should just prepare for it and hope the drama dies down.
