Eagles better not take massive risk on four-time Pro Bowl free agent

Don't do it.

A.J. Brown is one foot out the door for the Philadelphia Eagles, and despite having added four wide receivers either through free agency or the draft, there is always room for one more.

The Eagles have already been attached to free agent wide receivers like Jauan Jennings, but one that is now being brought up is that the team should not even consider messing with. Yardbarker's Daniel Morrison named Philly as a potential landing spot for former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

"Throughout the offseason, the Eagles have been involved in some of the biggest rumors at the wide receiver position. That's largely been around the future of A.J. Brown, who will likely be traded. But the Eagles still need to replace Brown. They seemed to partially do that by taking Makai Lemon in the first round of the NFL Draft. However, they could add to that with a veteran in Diggs."

Why the Eagles need to stay far, far away from Stefon Diggs

Diggs' talent is undeniable, as he has been a very good receiver in the NFL for a while. He's a four-time Pro Bowler, a one-time All-Pro selection, and has had seven 1,000-yard seasons, including his 1,013 last year with the Patriots.

What should make the Eagles nervous about Diggs is his off-field activity. He was just found not guilty of a felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault and battery charge.

It's not the only issue the Patriots had with him over the past year, as he was also found on a video on a yacht, holding a pink substance with other women. That caused a media storm with speculation on what he was doing.

The last thing the Eagles need is someone who will attract media attention and drama after what they are currently dealing with regarding Brown. Also, there is a chance the NFL could still discipline Diggs, so he might miss time.

Philly doesn't need a wide receiver as they already have DeVonta Smith as their number one guy and have a nucleus of others. They selected Makai Lemon in the first round of the draft, traded for Dontayvion Wicks, and signed free agents Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore.

The Eagles have enough receivers to work with, so adding Diggs is unnecessary; they will be just fine without him.
