The coaching carousel continues to be a headache not only for the Philadelphia Eagles as they find their next offensive coordinator, but also for their own coaching staff, which has been hit just as hard.

Former Eagles defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Christian Parker was hired as the Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator. Parker might not be the only departure from the Eagles' defensive coaching staff.

Sources tell ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler that the Miami Dolphins have interviewed Eagles defensive line coach Clint Hurtt for their defensive coordinator opening. Hurtt is set to be the head coach of one of the teams at the Senior Bowl after finishing his second season as the defensive line coach.

Unlike Parker, Hurtt has been a defensive coordinator, having run the Seattle Seahawks' defense in 2022 and 2023. Hurtt has also served as a defensive assistant at several colleges and with the Chicago Bears.

New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley has stated that he is looking for a guy who can help him run the defense he has run in Green Bay over the last two years, but might not be calling the plays as defensive coordinator. The question is whether Hurtt can fit that role for Hafley, but his previous experience running defenses is a big plus for him.

Hurtt had a ton of success with his defensive line and with developing Jalen Carter, who is coming off his second straight Pro Bowl season. More impressively, he made seventh-round pick Moro Ojomo into a stellar rotational player and helped Jordan Davis have the best year of his career in 2025.

It's another coach on the staff that the Eagles are going to have to monitor as they try to save as many as possible, but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's success over the last two years is now getting noticed by the rest of the 31 NFL teams, so this is bound to happen with coaches leaving left and right.
