When it comes to navigating the salary cap and cooking up creative draft moves, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman can go toe-to-toe with any front office executive out there.
During two stints spanning 14 seasons as general manager, Roseman has certainly learned lessons. He's gone light on certain positions at times, skimping on linebackers back in the day, leaving the wideout room or edge group a bit light in others. For much of the past decade, though, Roseman has been hitting just about all the right notes, with three Super Bowl appearances and a pair of rings to show for it.
With another training camp underway this week, the 2026 Philadelphia roster is once again loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.
Alex Kay with Bleacher Report penned a piece discussing one reason why each of the 32 NFL teams should not be overlooked in 2026, citing the roster strength of the Philadelphia Eagles:
"Philadelphia has established itself as one of the NFL's most complete organizations, consistently maintaining elite talent through aggressive roster management and strong drafting. Nick Sirianni's team features one of the league's best offensive lines, a dominant rushing attack and a defense loaded with difference-makers.
Jalen Hurts remains the centerpiece in the City of Brotherly Love. While he's far from the perfect quarterback, his ability to win games and control short-yardage situations makes him one of the league's most unique and valuable weapons under center. Saquon Barkley is still at the peak of his powers and has potential to lead the league in rushing for the second time in three seasons.
Philadelphia is far more than Hurts, Barkley and a small handful of other stars supported by replacement-tier talent, however. The roster has good starters and quality depth at nearly every position, affording the team the luxury of being able to exchange a Pro Bowlers like A.J. Brown for draft capital and remain competitive."
Eagles' depth and roster will be tested early in training camp
While Roseman exercised plenty of foresight in building out the wideout room before the ongoing Brown dilemma ended with the New England trade, his ability to fortify other spots with strong depth pieces is already being tested.
The pectoral injury suffered by Jonathan Greenard now turns the starting reins back over to Nolan Smith. At the same time, two free agent additions will be thrust into heightened roles as Greenard recovers. Arnold Ebiketie and A.J. Epenesa have played well with significant snaps in Atlanta and Buffalo, respectively, so again, as Kay noted, Roseman has done a commendable job not only adding depth but also bringing in big-game, quality players at key spots.
As training camp gets underway, the talent at all levels of this football team will be on full display. This roster is so much more than the big names such as Barkley, Hurts, and company.

Roseman has worked meticulously to strengthen each spot with proven depth pieces and emerging talent, putting Philadelphia in a strong position entering the 2026 campaign.
