There are so many different situations that could arise from the 2026 NFL Draft for the Philadelphia Eagles, with no clear direction on what would be best for the team.
Eagles fans know they have a lot of needs that must be addressed at some point in the draft, with edge rusher, wide receiver, safety, and offensive line. Bleacher Report writer Alex Ballentine had one dream draft scenario for each NFL with his for the Eagles being an interesting choice with the tight ends.
"Re-signing Dallas Goedert turns out to be a one-year bridge because Kenyon Sadiq is coming to Philadelphia."
Dallas Goedert wouldn't be a fan of Eagles' dream draft scenario
Most mock drafts at the beginning of the offseason had the Eagles taking Sadiq with the 23rd overall pick as a replacement for Goedert, who was set to be a free agent. It turns out that Sadiq ran a ridiculous 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine to push him near the top 10, and the Eagles decided to re-sign Goedert on a one-year deal.
Philly has a ton of depth at the tight end position right now behind Goedert, with Grant Calcaterra re-signing as well, Cameron Latu staying on, as well as Stone Smartt and Johnny Mundt being newcomers on the team. That kind of depth is great, but the Eagles really lack the pass-catching quality that Goedet has, as Smartt, Mundt, and Latu are more blocking-type tight ends.
Sadiq is just another freakish athlete of his own with everything that he can do on offense. He's even a solid blocker himself, but more importantly, he's a weapon in the passing game the Eagles have not had at tight end ever, even with great ones like Goedert, Zach Ertz, and Brent Celek coming into town over the last decade.

It would be stunning to see Sadiq drop to the Eagles at 23, but if he does, Roseman might be crazy to pass on him.
