The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to enter the home stretch of the offensive coordinator search as they continue their second round of interviews.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Eagles have completed their third second-round interview with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. Last season with Tampa Bay, Grizzard replaced Liam Coen as offensive coordinator and was fired after the season.

Many people have seen the similarities between Grizzard and former Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Both struggled in their first year as offensive coordinators with a talented offense because they couldn't get into a rhythm with play-calling.

Josh Grizzard completes second interview with Eagles

Grizzard now joins Jim Bob Cooter and Sean Mannion as the only reported second-round interviews for the Eagles. Philly has already lost out on candidates like Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll.

While Grizzard technically fits the profile of an experienced play caller, he struggled last year with a great Buccaneers offensive unit. The Buccaneers' offense finished 21st in yards and 18th in points under Grizzard as the play caller.

Philly is trying to cast a wide net for the search and have had some interesting names pop up. It appears as no matter what happens, the Eagles are going to be taking a risk on a coach who either doesn't have the experience, but had little success with the job when they were offensive coordinator.

Cooter still appears to be the most experienced of the three candidates. Mannion has only coached for two years, and Grizzard was the offensive coordinator for one year.

At the rate these interviews are going, the Eagles are in no rush to make a final decision on an offensive coordinator yet. Eagles fans hope to see more names pop up that might get them more excited about the search, rather than just annoyed or angered by it.
