The Philadelphia Eagles faced a ton of pressure after allowing future Hall of Fame offensive line coach and run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland to walk out the door, but they have finally found his replacement.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports that the Eagles are set to hire Chris Kuper to be the new offensive line coach. Kuper was previously with the Minnesota Vikings in the same position for the last four years.

This is a reunion for Kuper and Mannion as the two were together in Minnesota in 2021 and 2023. Mannion was a backup quarterback at the time while Kuper was coaching the Vikings' offensive line.

What a pressure job it will be for Kuper as he might have more eyes on him than any other position coach in Eagles history. He had some success in Minnesota with his offensive lines, but last year was not good for the Vikings.

In 2025, the Vikings were tied for the second-most sacks allowed in the regular season with 60. A lot of that was due to injuries to the offensive line, with over five different lineups used, but it still didn't help Minnesota much offensively.

Kuper has a lot of questions he needs to address in the offseason regarding the Eagles' offensive line. First, he needs to know whether Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson will play in 2026, as both are considering retirement.

If one or both of them retire, the Eagles will have to scramble for replacements through free agency or the draft, putting more on Kuper to get the coaching right. But if Kuper gets both guys back, that will help and could lead the Eagles to find their potential replacements in free agency or the draft.

The good part is that Kuper has some great pieces to work with, as he has left tackle Jordan Mailata and Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens back. Kuper will have to develop starting right guard Tyler Steen more and get him playing at a Pro Bowl level.

This is arguably the toughest job in the NFL, and Kuper is the one who raised his hand to do it. From all Eagles fans in Philly, good luck, and hopefully this works out.
