The Philadelphia Eagles need to find another wide receiver in the NFL Draft that they can develop to either be a WR3 for the next year or replace A.J. Brown, who could be traded in the offseason.
Philly is losing wide receiver Jahan Dotson as he is entering free agency, but it won't be considered too much of a loss for the Eagles. Dotson didn't even get to 500 yards receiving in his two seasons in Philadelphia, so the Eagles would love to upgrade the WR3 position.
One of the many standout performances from the NFL Combine might have given the Eagles their perfect option for WR3 in Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard. During the workout, Bernard ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, which was better than expected for his 6-foot-1 frame, and looked good with his 10-foot-5 broad jump.
Germie Bernard could be the next great Alabama WR for the Eagles
Bernard had a stellar last two seasons with the Crimson Tide, totaling 1,470 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns as well.
Those aren't crazy numbers for Bernard, but those are the kind of numbers the Eagles are looking for to develop a future starter. Philly has had good experience with wide receivers from Alabama, as DeVonta Smith has become a stellar starter for the Eagles without making a single Pro Bowl or All-Pro.
Bernard is a solid route runner who can make all the catches. At the same time, he's got a similar size to Brown, and if they needed him to start on the outside in place of Brown, Bernard would be able to fill that role.
The Eagles need to use their first-round pick on either an offensive lineman to replace Lane Johnson or an edge rusher to replace Jaelan Phillips if he doesn't get re-signed. Bernard's combine performance, while solid, may not have been enough to get him into the first round, but he could land somewhere in the second.

Philly fans could be encouraged by the great performances of the wide receivers at the NFL Combine, but Bernard might be a name to watch for in the 2026 NFL Draft.
