The Philadelphia Eagles have had a tough time this offseason trying to find the right number three receiver in the offense, but they finally got their guy with Marquise "Hollywood" Brown.
Philly signed Brown to a one-year, $6.5 million contract to join DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown in what seems like one of the best three-headed monsters in the NFL. Marquise Brown joined the crew on Speakeasy, where he said it came down to the Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens for his destination, but Philly wanted him more.
"This is my second time in free agency, so I kind of don't want the small talk. I let him (Brown's agent) deal with it. When it got down to who really wanted me, who he really thinks is showing interest, I want to talk and get involved, but other than that, I just leave it up to God, and this is where he led me. I'm blessed and happy to be here."
Marquise Brown chose Eagles over Ravens
The Eagles won the bidding war over the Ravens, which is a great victory for Philly, as they had been missing out on so many free agents throughout the offseason. Now the Eagles' offense has the deep ball threat they have been looking for over the last few years.
Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. The only 1,000-yard season of his career was with the Ravens, where he started, but he also played for the Arizona Cardinals.
Everything is finally coming into form for the Eagles' offense that surely needs it. While there are still some big questions about whether A.J. Brown will be on the roster in 2026, tight end Dallas Goedert's return was massive for this Eagles team and something they needed for the passing game.
