While some teams are sitting back and relaxing on summer break, the Philadelphia Eagles are taking a good look at the UFL talent pool to bring in some players.
The Eagles just signed DC Defenders wide receiver Erik Ezukanma and Dallas Renegades cornerback Shaun Wade to the roster. Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox singled out Ezukanma as one of the UFL stars to watch out for going into training camp.
"The Philadelphia Eagles are in the process of reloading their receiver room after trading Brown to the New England Patriots. After adding the likes of Marquise Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Makai Lemon, Philly has signed DC Defenders wideout Erik Ezukanma."
"In Philly, Ezukanma could provide depth at receiver while adding value as a gadget player and return specialist."
Erik Ezukanma might be a legit weapon on the Eagles in 2026
This past season with the Defenders, Ezukanma posted 15 receptions for 227 yards and a touchdown, nine rushes for 79 yards, and 18 kick returns for 459 yards. He did everything for the Defenders on offense and on special teams.
New Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion is looking to add some weapons to the offense and put in some wrinkles. Ezukanma might be able to help with that by showing off his versatility to the NFL. Watch for him to compete on the outside at 6-foot-2 and be behind either DeVonta Smith or Dontayvion Wicks on the depth chart competing for a backup job.
Britain Covey is dealing with some injury concerns for the Eagles on special teams as one of their main returners. Ezukanma could step in on kickoffs and punts to help with that, as he was one of the top kickoff returners in the UFL during the season.

The Eagles need all the depth they can get at wide receiver as they try to move forward in the post-A.J. Brown era. Ezukanma won't be able to replace Brown, but he can bring a very different dynamic to the roster that Philly needs.
