It just wouldn't be a normal day for the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason without losing out on yet another offensive coordinator candidate.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Miami Dolphins promoted senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik to be the offensive coordinator. New Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley decided to keep Slowik on staff after finishing his first season in Miami under former head coach Mike McDaniel.

Slowik interviewed for the Eagles' offensive coordinator job after serving as the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator for two years. He's the latest candidate to pass on the Eagles' opening, which also included McDaniel and Zac Robinson interviewing.

Eagles' OC job opening is only getting worse with Bobby Slowik off the market

The Eagles' search for a new offensive coordinator only got worse with another candidate out. That's now three that have interviewed that appear to be out of the picture.

Philly still has candidates that they could hire who interviewed for the job, including Mike Kafka, Declan Doyle, and Jim Bob Cooter. Brian Daboll is apparently still in play as well, despite reports that he would take the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator job if he does not get offered the Buffalo Bills' head coach job.

The mystery behind the search is growing as no one knows what the Eagles will do at this point. Their top candidates are dropping like flies, and now they might be left regretting their decision to remove Kevin Patullo as the offensive coordinator after one season.

Philly could be forced to think outside the box and take a chance on a young rising star like Doyle, since not a lot of the more veteran coaches are looking at the Eagles' job. Whether that's a bad thing or not is another question to ask for another day.

This is a rough update for the Eagles fan base that just wants an answer on who will take the job, but they could be playing this search out longer than expected.
