Even though everyone's thoughts are on free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles fan base shouldn't forget about the 2026 NFL Draft, which is one month away.
This is an all-important one for the Birds as they have a list of important positions to fill, including offensive tackle, edge rusher, wide receiver, and tight end. Bleacher Report writer Alex Ballentine named his one draft gem on every team, and for the Eagles, he likes Stanford tight end Sam Roush as a player to watch.
"The offense needs to find a spark after a disappointing season last year. So it wouldn't be surprising at all to find a player like Sam Roush wind up with a role as a draft pick outside of the top 100. At the very least, Roush will find a home as a blocker early in his career."
"However, his exceptional athletic profile suggests he could become a legitimate receiver. At 6'6", 267 pounds, he isn't just a big receiver masquerading as a tight end. He could handle in-line duties from Day 1 and become even more."
Eagles' potential draft gem could be Sam Roush
Roush had a solid career in the NFL, catching 119 passes for 1,201 yards and four touchdowns over four seasons with Stanford. Last season, he was a second-team All-ACC selection after going for 545 yards and two touchdowns.
This would be a similar path the Eagles took with former tight end Zach Ertz, who was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft. Ertz went on to build a nice career and was a hero in the Super Bowl, making the game-winning touchdown catch in their first Super Bowl title win.
The Eagles have a lot of questions at tight end after signing Johnny Mundt, who's a blocking tight end, and re-signing Grant Calcaterra as well. Cameron Latu is on the roster, but the Eagles still have to find an elite pass catcher at tight end.

While Dallas Goedert is still an option, Roush would be a solid option to be the number one tight end and could be a star in the NFL.
