With the temperature not only turned up outside, but also on the field for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2026, there are going to be some veterans who might be facing their last training camp or regular season with the team if they don't shape up.
This offseason, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made plenty of additions in the hopes of building greater depth than they had in 2025. One position in particular got more attention than the others: cornerback.
Riq Woolen was the Eagles' first signing of the offseason, and he appears to be a great addition as the new starting CB2. Others, like veteran Jonathan Jones, add pressure to the current players on the roster. One in particular has been on the wrong side of the Eagles fans' list and is hoping to change the narrative in 2026.
Kelee Ringo has something to prove to Eagles fans in 2026
Ringo battled with Adoree' Jackson in training camp last year for that same CB2 job and lost it. Jackson and Ringo would go in and out of the lineup with Jackson hurt at times, but ultimately, Jackson would hold on to the job late in the season because he played significantly better than Ringo.
At the end of the season, Ringo finished with 37 tackles, two pass deflections, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 17 games with three starts. He allowed a 56% completion percentage and a passer rating of 83.7. Pro Football Focus gave him a 55.3 overall grade, ranking 86th out of 114 cornerbacks in the NFL last year.
Throughout his three-year career in Philly, Ringo has been criticized for having struggled in pass coverage, which has led to fewer opportunities to play. Instead, he has been a much better special teams player as one of the best gunners on kickoff coverage in the league.
Even through all the struggles, what he does on special teams saves him from getting cut or traded every time. That's a good thing to have on a team, but at some point, the Eagles might have to decide to move on.
Ringo knows that the 2026 season might be the most important of his NFL career, as the Eagles are going to look for him to play better in pass coverage. There is more competition for him, making the battle for the 53-man roster tougher.

If he can play better this year, it might help convince the Eagles to keep him beyond 2026, but another season like the last three, where he's just good for special teams, could mean he's walking out the door to free agency.
