The Philadelphia Eagles already lost out on Mike McDaniel for their open offensive coordinator role, so they don't need problems with the search anymore. One might have just popped up.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Buffalo Bills have requested an interview with former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll. This news comes on the heels of the Bills stunningly moving on from Sean McDermott as their head coach after nine seasons.

Daboll is considered to be a top candidate for the Eagles' offensive coordinator job and has already interviewed for the job. There is a possibility that Daboll could also land the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator job, as he is their top candidate.

Eagles are losing their grip on Brian Daboll for the OC role

This is not a complete shocker, as the Bills were always going to interview Daboll, as he is expected to be one of their top candidates for the head coach job. Daboll was the Bills' offensive coordinator during the early years of former NFL MVP quarterback Josh Allen, which helped him land the head coaching job with the Giants.

The Eagles know they have competition on their hands and that it will be a massive issue as they navigate the offensive coordinator search. Philly wants Daboll due to his previous working relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts at Alabama and running back Saquon Barkley with the Giants.

If the Eagles are unable to get Daboll, it could cause massive chaos in the coaching search and leave them with not a ton of strong candidates for the job. Philly will have to navigate this situation as cautiously as possible and ensure they have a solid backup plan in case Daboll is out of the picture.

This is only going to cause more anxiety among the Eagles fan base, as they hope to find a savior to fix their broken offense and get them back to Super Bowl contention.
