4 Eagles offseason decisions that should pay off despite currently seeming disastrous
The Eagles allow T.J. Edwards to leave the building.
We know... We know... T.J. Edwards is gone, and he isn't coming back. Raise your hand if you haven't thought about this guy during the first two games though. Yep! That's what we thought.
Here's where we are. The Chicago Bears determined that rather than keep the guy who started all 17 games for them last season (Morrow), they'd rather have the guy that Philly had (T.J.).
We can't for the life of us come up with logical reasons for letting Edwards walk. Come on. Nakobe Dean gets paid like a fourth-rounder, and Philly had more than enough resources to pay T.J. $5 million in 2023, $7.5 million in 2024, and $7 million in 2025. With that said, there aren't any good reasons for him not being on the roster.
The Eagles give the keys to their defense to Nakobe Dean.

Thankfully, Dean's injury isn't of the season-ending variety. Still, moving on from one of the better recent homegrown players and giving the keys to Nakobe both look like bad ideas, but with a few reps some time should cure that.
