Eagles coordinator options if Desai, Patricia are dismissed, three Philly will ignore but shouldn't

We thought we might offer some unsolicited advice on where the Eagles should begin their search for a new defensive coordinator. We even included a couple of wildcards.

Another hot NCAA prospect: Jim Leonhard

Jim Leonhard is a senior football analyst at the University of Illinois. This comes after serving as Wisconsin's interim head football coach in 2022. Like Minter, he interviewed for the Eagles' vacant defensive coordinator position last offseason.

He has also served as Wisconsin's defensive backs coach (2016) before adding their defensive coordinator title to his resume from 2017 to 2022. He turned Philly down last time around, but maybe they can talk him into the gig a year later if both sides are interested. There was a mutual decision to stray away from moving forward the last time there was a negotiation.

Yet another hot NCAA prospect: Glenn Schumann

Maybe the key to unlocking the best qualities these former Georgia Bulldogs share is to reunite them with a coach they won so often under. A Dawgs assistant since 2016, Glenn Schumann called plays on a UGA defense that won consecutive College Football Playoff National Championship Games.

Like both Leonhard and Minter, he interviewed for the then-vacant DC job with Philly last offseason. Maybe he's had a change of heart since last February. He'd be a nice addition to the Birds coaching staff and certainly has the potential to elevate them back to respectability again.
