9 Eagles who must join Philadelphia's next batch of superstars
There are a lot of Georgia Bulldogs on this Eagles roster, and Philly needs the best from every one of them.
Much is expected of these former Georgia Bulldogs on the Eagles' roster. Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter have already been mentioned. Don't forget about Kelee Ringo and Nolan Smith. They have some star power, and no one will complain if they exceed what we all see in potential.
Kelee Ringo, cornerback
The following statement has been made constantly, but for the sake of this discussion, it bears repeating. James Bradberry and Darius Slay might be the best starting outside cornerback duo in the NFL, but they'll be 30 years old and 32 years old respectively when the season begins.
Many moons ago, the Birds were able to move off of Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor because they had Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard waiting in the wings. Slay and Bradberry aren't going to play forever, and it would be nice if Kelee Ringo was ready to take the reigns if anything happens in the realm of regression or injuries. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Nolan Smith, linebacker
All offseason, we have marveled over Nolan Smith's work ethic and maturity. He is absolutely the defensive equivalent of Jalen Hurts in terms of talent and potential. Now, we wait to see if said work ethic will translate to success on the playing surface for Smith as it did for QB1.
Philly landed Nolan with the 30th overall selection during Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft, and here's what's interesting. They may have entertained the possibility of selecting him in the top ten. Now, the imagination shifts to something else. Will he warrant the first-round pick that was used on him?
The Eagles don't want him to do so. They need him to do so. It's as simple as that.
